You know what surprised me most about Momento Bangtao Beach? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you – and somehow that makes it even better. I mean, sure, it’s a three-star property, but honestly, the location alone puts it way ahead of some fancier spots I’ve stayed at in Phuket.

The thing is, Bangtao Beach isn’t one of those crazy crowded stretches where you’re fighting for sand space. It’s got this laid-back vibe that feels more authentic than the touristy chaos you’ll find elsewhere on the island. When I walked out of Momento in the morning, I could actually hear the waves instead of just motorbike engines and tour groups. The hotel sits close enough to the beach that you can smell that salty air from your room – well, at least from the rooms facing the right direction. The staff there actually remember your name after a day or two, which is pretty refreshing when you’re used to being just another room number.

What really won me over was how the place handles the little things. The breakfast isn’t fancy, but they make a decent Thai-style omelet and the coffee is strong enough to wake you up properly. There’s this small pool area that gets perfect afternoon shade – I spent way too many hours there with a book because it just felt right. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing Instagram-worthy but everything works like it should. Air conditioning runs quiet, hot water comes fast, and the beds are actually firm enough for a good night’s sleep. I noticed they’ve got this thing figured out where the Wi-Fi actually reaches the pool area too, which sounds silly but you’d be amazed how many places mess that up. The whole setup feels like someone who actually travels designed it, not just someone trying to maximize room revenue. Plus, being right there in the Bangtao area means you’re close to some genuinely good local restaurants – the kind where Thai families eat, not just the tourist traps. If you want that relaxed beach experience without paying resort prices or dealing with Patong madness, this place gets it right.

  I absolutely loved my stay at Momento Bangtao! The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, they were always going above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect and that I had everything I needed and more! The location of the property is super convenient and it’s very nice and has a sleek finish. The terrace above the rooms was incredible and a nice spot where you can eat, rest and just chill out. The rooms were super clean and the bed was really comfortable, it has an aircon and a fan in the room to ensure that you don’t overheat. Overall my stay was absolutely amazing and the hosts have great attention to detail and are also very accommodating and kind. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone and I will definitely be staying here again in the future!

  We had a really nice stay at the momento. The staff are friendly and courteous and provided everything we needed including arranging early breakfasts. The rooms are clean, well decorated and comfortable.
  The breakfasts were particularly good, probably the best we've had while staying in hotels over the last couple of years. It's two minutes walk from the beach and much quieter than the other resorts which is good for us.

  The made to order breakfast was excellent.The small kitchenette was real handy for keeping drinks cold. Got a bag of ice from 7-11 and put it in our freezer.
  We were the only guests during the rainy season that was at the hotel, we were there for almost three weeks, we were in heaven. The staff, Gina, Noon and both boys were amazing.
  The location was fantastic….beach was a short walk from hotel, (across the street) restaurants, shops, massage shops, tour guide booths, taxis, tuk tuks and money exchange kiosks.

  Excellent little place to stay! Lovely location close to both Bangtao and Surin beach! Gina and others are very accommodating and always there to help if needed..even sorted a tour to the Phi Phi islands for me! Would stay again 100%, the breakfast is excellent, no complaints!

  Friendly staff and always ready to help with my questions or anything that can make my stay better. I appreciated that there was HBO aside from Netflix in the room! My favourite part was the comfortable bed and pillows though. I was well rested every night, so much so that I always woke up late and missed breakfast lol. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Momento Bangtao and will recommend to anyone!
