The air con works well, which honestly matters more than fancy decor when you’re dealing with Thai heat. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – you’re close enough to Bang Tao Beach that you can walk there in about ten minutes, but far enough from the main road that you don’t get the constant motorbike noise that drives me crazy at other places.

Here’s the thing about this area that most people don’t realize until they get here – it’s actually pretty convenient for exploring. You’ve got those local Thai restaurants just down the road where you can get proper pad thai for like 80 baht, and there’s a 7-Eleven close by for all those random things you forgot to pack. The beach itself isn’t the most stunning on the island (that would be Kata Noi, if you ask me), but it’s long, relatively clean, and way less crowded than the famous spots. I spent a few afternoons there just reading, and the only people bothering me were the occasional fruit vendors – and honestly, their mango was pretty good. The staff at Modern Bangtao Studio kept things simple but friendly, no over-the-top service that feels fake, just straightforward help when you need it. Parking was never an issue if you’re renting a scooter, which you should definitely do to get around properly. Is it perfect? No – the WiFi could be stronger, and the shower pressure isn’t amazing – but for what you pay and where you are, it does the job without any major complaints.

  The space for a car park and near to Bangtao beach. Everything was prepared, something that we didn’t use was also there and we thought it was very nice such as kitchen tools, plates and cutlery. The check-in and check-out was very easy.
