Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Majestic Villas Guesthouse Phuket, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the smaller spots surprise you in the best ways, and this guesthouse absolutely nailed that whole “hidden gem” vibe I’m always hunting for when I travel.

The thing that struck me right away was how the staff actually seemed to care – I mean, really care – about making sure guests felt at home. The owner (I think his name was Somchai, super friendly guy) knew every guest by name within a day, which is pretty rare these days. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works properly, and honestly, that’s half the battle in Phuket where some places look gorgeous online but then you show up and the air conditioning sounds like a dying elephant. Here, everything just… worked. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the property, the hot water was actually hot, and the beds were firm enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been sleeping on a marshmallow.

What really won me over, though, was the location and the little details that made a difference. You’re close enough to the main tourist areas that you can easily grab a tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi when you want to hit the beaches or night markets, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and chaos. I actually enjoyed sitting on the small terrace in the evenings with a Chang beer – there’s something about that quiet residential vibe that felt more authentic than staying right in the thick of things. The breakfast was simple but fresh, and they were flexible about timing, which I appreciated since I’m definitely not a morning person on vacation. I mean, the coffee wasn’t going to win any awards, but it did the job, and they had fresh fruit that actually tasted like it was picked recently. One small thing that bugged me – the walls are a bit thin, so if you’re unlucky enough to get neighbors who like to party late, you’ll hear it. But during my stay, most guests seemed to be the chill traveler types rather than the party crowd, so it worked out fine. For the price point and the genuine hospitality, this place delivers way more than you’d expect from the star rating.

  Walking distance to cafes and restaurants, overall quiet location despite being on a road thay can get busy some times of the day. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Swimming pool definitely an added value to the place, is clean and well arranged. I would recommend.

  The room has a nice atmosphere (though a bit simple). Good water pressure, and very hot water. The pool is great. The hotel is in a good location, walking distance to the main street (though better to have a bike or car). The resident cat is very polite.

  This place is a true gem! It is located in Rawai, a rather chilled part of Phuket – but not boring at all!
  Wale up to the sounds of tropical birds, spend your day at the pool or one of the nearby beaches and enjoy the friendly nightlife and delicious food. It’s the best place to be for people who don’t want to be in the loud and crowded epicenter Patong but are still up for meeting people at night. Best part of it: Owner George and his wife Dang! Funny, friendly and very supportive! they will do anything to accommodate you according to your needs. Best place, fully recommended for singles, couples, families alike!

  my trip to thailand ive tried out many hotels trying to find a place thats more of a home, and of you stay ay this villa you will be treated like family, its quiet close to the beach, the host are friendly and open , i have loved my time exploring and then coming back to the villa having a chat with roger the host, and his sweet wife dang. any major hotel will be bustling and noisy of you want peace and security this is your booking!
