Here’s the thing about Kamala Beach — it’s not as crazy busy as Patong, but it’s not sleepy either. Layalina sits right on Kamala Beach Road, which means you’re literally a two-minute walk to the sand. I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and be on the beach before your coffee kicks in. The location score of 9.4 isn’t just numbers on a screen — couples especially seem to love it here, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. You’ve got that perfect balance of beach access and actual neighborhood life around you.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was honestly better than I expected from the photos online. Clean lines, decent space, and — this matters more than you’d think — really good air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine. The bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept well (which doesn’t always happen when you’re adjusting to a new place), and the bathroom had proper water pressure. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything worked the way it should, which is sometimes the best compliment you can give a hotel.

Food and Dining

The hotel restaurant serves solid Thai food alongside some international options, though honestly, with Kamala Beach’s dining scene right outside your door, you’ll probably want to explore. That said, breakfast was actually pretty good — fresh fruit, decent coffee, and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying for several days. What I appreciated was that they didn’t try to do too much; they focused on doing the basics really well instead of offering mediocre everything.

Look, Layalina isn’t trying to be the flashiest place on the beach, and that’s exactly why it works so well. The staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re comfortable, the location puts you right where you want to be without the chaos of the more touristy strips, and the whole experience feels… well, it feels right. You’re getting solid value in one of the best-rated areas of Kamala Beach, with easy beach access and enough nearby restaurants and bars to keep things interesting. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax without feeling like you’re missing out on anything important.

  What a little gem! Beautifully located right on the beach, with fantastic sea views from all the rooms. We chose a duplex with our own roof terrace, where we did yoga every day.
  Our room was spacious and clean with a lovely jacuzzi bath. The staff were all very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay.
  Kamala Beach is also a great choice to base yourself when in Phuket. Pretty and with lots of facilities but quieter than many of the more touristy beaches.

  The property is a great location within the tiny beach town of Kamala. The pool was very small very noisy a lot of smokers and no view from in the pool. Not enough sunbeds to enjoy the sun. Walking distance to dive shops and restaurants as well as cannibas cafes. A great location overall

  Our room was beautiful, with excellent views of the beach, including from the rooftop area.
  Great location (pretty quiet at night after 10.30pm), except Christmas Eve when there seemed to be an event on in a nearby property. Right on the beach and close to everything.
  Staff were nice and friendly – lovely touches like a welcome drink and cold towel on arrival.
  Jacuzzi bath was great.
