I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to La Flora Resort Patong, I wasn’t expecting much from another beachfront property in this chaotic corner of Phuket. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The moment you step through those sleek glass doors, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s pretty remarkable considering you’re literally minutes from the madness of Bangla Road and Patong Beach’s tourist circus.

What struck me most about this five-star resort is how they’ve managed to create these little pockets of tranquility without feeling stuffy or pretentious. The pool area – and I mean this – is absolutely gorgeous, with these contemporary daybeds that actually have decent padding (you’d be surprised how many resorts cheap out on that detail). The staff here genuinely seems to care, which honestly isn’t always a given in Patong where some places just coast on location. I watched them remember guests’ drink preferences after just a day or two, and the housekeeping was meticulous without being intrusive.

The rooms themselves lean modern and sophisticated – think clean lines, lots of natural light, and those little touches that make you feel like someone actually thought about your comfort. The bathrooms are spacious with proper water pressure (trust me on this one), and the beds are legitimately comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing – you can hear the energy of Patong when you want to, but you’re not stuck with thumping bass from nearby bars when you’re trying to sleep. Location-wise, you’re close enough to walk to everything that matters – the beach, the shopping, those late-night food stalls that somehow taste better after midnight – but far enough removed that you can actually relax. The resort shuttle makes it even easier if you don’t feel like dealing with the tuk-tuk negotiations, which, let’s face it, can get old pretty quickly. This isn’t the cheapest option in the area, obviously, but for what you get – that balance of luxury and accessibility, plus being able to retreat from the Patong intensity whenever you need to – it’s actually solid value for a proper five-star experience.

  From start to finish the staff were amazing and went above and beyond with everything, from the presentation of the rooms to breakfast.
  
  The breakfast offered a huge variety to accommodate for anyone staying.
  
  The location is very central with minimal noise which meant we always had a great nights sleep.
  
  If by the beach/ pool there was a menu for snacks or a full meal if required.
  
  The NY eve party was exceptional and the food left us spoilt with choice. From Sushi to a hog roast, along with welcome drinks and cocktails.
  
  The staff bought around a lovely NY card and elephants for gifts- this was well above anything we expected.
  
  Added bonus- 5 minute walk from the Central Shopping complex.

  Property directly on the beach with comfortable little garden with sunbeds. We liked the pool too. The staff is willing to help, responsive and friendly. Rooms are well equipped, minibar with sorts and beers free. Not too noisy, while direct vicinity to main Patong road. Very nice restaurant for both breakfast and lunch/dinner.
