There’s this tiny restaurant about three minutes down the hill that does the best green curry I’ve had in Thailand, no exaggeration. The staff at the apartments actually told me about it – they’re locals who seem to genuinely want you to experience the real Phuket, not just the tourist version. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that resort bureaucracy where they try to sell you excursions before you’ve even seen your room. The 9.3 rating makes total sense when you factor in that it’s not trying to be something it isn’t – it’s just really, really good at being a comfortable base for exploring this part of the island. The Wi-Fi actually works (crucial for digital nomads), the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and parking is included, which might not sound exciting but trust me, you’ll appreciate it when you see what some places around here charge for a parking spot.

Hotel in Phuket booking should be done early, especially during high season when the island hosts internationally celebrated beach parties and cultural festivals at Patong Beach and other iconic locations.
