You know what struck me first about Kamala Dreams? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with fancy lobbies or over-the-top décor, but somehow ends up being exactly what you need after a long day exploring Phuket’s beaches. I mean, sure, it’s a three-star property, but honestly, the staff here gets hospitality in a way that some of those flashier resorts completely miss.

The location is actually pretty smart – you’re close enough to Kamala Beach that you can hear the waves if you really listen, but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of beach vendors and jet skis starting up at dawn. I’ve stayed in beachfront places before where the noise becomes this constant background hum you can’t escape, so this feels like they found that sweet spot. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, nothing groundbreaking, but the air conditioning works reliably (crucial in that Thai heat), and I appreciated that the shower had decent water pressure – you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in this price range.

What really won me over, though, was how the place feels lived-in rather than sterile. The pool area has this relaxed vibe where you’ll find a mix of families and couples, and there’s always someone around to chat with if you’re in the mood. The restaurant serves solid Thai food – not tourist-level bland, but actually flavorful – and their pad thai is honestly better than what I’ve had at places charging twice as much. Plus, the motorbike taxi guys who hang out near the entrance know all the good local spots, which saved me from wandering around aimlessly looking for that perfect sunset dinner spot. Check-in was smooth, no drama, and they were flexible about letting me store my bags after checkout while I killed time before my evening flight. It’s those little things that make a difference when you’re traveling, you know?

  Lovely family run hotel located right on the beach. Rooms were a great size and had the benefit of a little kitchenette area. The management were super friendly and were on hand to help whenever we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again.

  The location is fabulous. On the beach and close to restaurants, bars etc. Large rooms, your own balcony/terrace area with outdoor seating etc. Kitchenette with microwave and good amount of bench space. Everything you need is available. Two restaurants/bars on the premises. I would definitely return. Helpful and friendly staff.

  The view from room 201 is fabulous and the hotel is central to all things at the Kamala Beach. The ladies who clean the rooms do a great job and are very friendly. The pool is clean and has ample loungers around it.
