You know what really struck me about Kamala Beach Estate Resort – SHA Extra Plus? It’s tucked away just far enough from the main Kamala Beach strip that you actually get some peace and quiet, but you’re still close enough to walk down for dinner without breaking a sweat. I mean, the four-star rating tells you it’s solid, but honestly, the 8.8 guest rating is what convinced me this place was doing something right.
The resort itself has this lovely sprawling feel – not one of those towering concrete blocks you see everywhere in Phuket these days. Instead, you’ve got these low-rise buildings scattered around tropical gardens that actually look like someone cares about them. The pools (there are a couple) are surprisingly well-maintained, and I noticed they clean them early in the morning before most guests are up, which is a nice touch. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays even when it’s busy – the layout just naturally absorbs sound, so you’re not hearing every conversation from three rooms over.
The location is pretty smart, actually. You’re about a five-minute stroll down to Kamala Beach itself, which is way more chill than Patong but still has decent restaurants and that little night market on Wednesdays. If you’re into the whole Phuket FantaSea thing, it’s practically next door – though fair warning, when they have shows, you’ll hear the fireworks. Not annoying, just… there. The staff genuinely seem to know the area well too, which isn’t always a given. They steered me toward this little local spot for pad thai that I never would’ve found otherwise, tucked behind the 7-Eleven near the main road. Small details like that make a difference, you know? The rooms are comfortable without being fancy – good air conditioning (crucial in this humidity), decent WiFi, and the bathrooms are properly renovated. I stayed during shoulder season, so it was pretty peaceful, but I imagine it gets busier during the December-February rush when everyone’s escaping winter elsewhere.

We were greeted by Danie and Sumer by name welcoming us as soon as we got out of our cab with a water and fresh towel.
The landscaping was beautiful. This was towards the end of a 3 week holiday and after the craziness of the other cities we visited this relaxing oasis was just what we needed. We laid around the pool in the morning and then walked into town in the afternoons and it was perfect. White at the hotel but close enough to walk to whatever we needed.Megan from Australia (8/10)
Great location. Quiet and aware from the noisy shops, but a really easy walk to restaurants supermarkets and the beach. Staff were responsive and helpful to our requests. Comfy apartments with a nice outlook. Rooms are actually nicer than they look in the pictures.

We loved the location and the overall look off the property. The room was clean and tidy. The beach was great and the pools too. It was quiet which is what we wanted. No loud music, screaming kids etc. the staff were very friendly and helpful. They were a 10 out of 10. Lovely people. We had a very comfortable stay and would return.
