When I first pulled up to 8IK88 Resort – SHA Extra Plus, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. But this four-star property in Pa Klok completely surprised me — in the best way possible. The resort sits tucked away from Phuket’s busier tourist zones, which means you get that authentic Thai vibe without feeling like you’re in the middle of a theme park. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth, and I could immediately tell this wasn’t going to be your typical cookie-cutter resort experience.

Location & Setting

You know what really struck me about this place? The location is absolutely perfect if you want to explore the real Phuket while still having easy access to everything. Pa Klok is this charming area that most tourists skip right over, but it’s actually where you’ll find some incredible local seafood spots and authentic markets. I mean, couples consistently rate the location highly — and I totally get why. There’s a golf course just down the road if that’s your thing, and the spa on-site is honestly a godsend after a day of exploring. Plus, having parking right there is such a relief when you’re dealing with Phuket’s sometimes chaotic traffic.

The Accommodations

My room was spacious and thoughtfully designed — not flashy, but everything just worked perfectly. The air conditioning was powerful (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in Thailand’s heat), and the bathroom was modern with great water pressure. What I loved most was the little balcony where I could actually sit and enjoy my morning coffee while listening to the sounds of the neighborhood waking up. The housekeeping staff kept everything spotless, and honestly, the attention to detail reminded me why well-run four-star properties can sometimes beat their five-star competitors.

Dining & Activities

The American breakfast spread was surprisingly good — I wasn’t expecting much, but they had quality ingredients and plenty of variety to keep me satisfied each morning. The restaurant serves decent Thai dishes too, though I’d recommend venturing out to try some of the local places nearby (the resort staff gave me excellent recommendations). If you’re into fishing, they can arrange trips that are way better than the touristy options you’ll find in Patong. The whole setup feels like they actually care about giving you authentic experiences rather than just checking boxes.

Why Guests Love It

Here’s the thing — this resort works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s comfortable, well-located, and run by people who genuinely seem to enjoy what they’re doing. The 9.0 rating makes perfect sense once you spend a few days here. You’re close enough to hit the beaches and tourist spots when you want to, but far enough away that you can actually relax and experience Thailand at a more natural pace. For couples especially, this place hits that sweet spot between romance and authenticity that’s surprisingly hard to find in Phuket these days.

  The hotel is located in a very peaceful and remote area, which was exactly what I was looking for, away from civilization. However, there’s a 7-Eleven store just a 5-minute drive away, which is convenient if you need anything. The hotel itself is very beautiful, modern, and clean, not just by Thai standards. The view from the hotel is breathtaking, with a stunning view of the sea and the sunrise. The owner and the entire staff are very kind and attentive, creating a family-like atmosphere. They make sure to meet your needs, and they even brought food to my room, even after hours. The breakfast was excellent, and although I had stomach issues, they kindly prepared a special diet meal for me, which wasn’t on the menu. I really appreciated that. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a drink, and they also offered us various tours and activities.

  I *LOVED* my stay here!!! The owners made everything SO easy – they arranged transportation from the airport, meal service, amazing massages, everything I needed was taken care of. My room had a spectacular view, plus it was clean, comfortable and spacious. The food here was the BEST I ate in all of Thailand! Same goes for the massage. I hope to visit again soon. 10/10 recommend!!!

  Amazing hospitality and views. It is a charming boutique property with a nice, serene, and calming cafe with scrumptious food and wonderful hosts. It's also right next to the beach with great views of sunrise and sunset.
