There’s a decent local restaurant called Ruen Mai that’s practically next door, and they do this amazing green curry that locals actually eat at, not just tourists. The walk to the beach takes you past some genuine Thai neighborhoods where you’ll see kids playing and laundry hanging out, which I mean, gives you a better sense of the real Phuket than staying right on the strip does. Parking isn’t terrible either – there’s usually space, though it can get tight during high season when everyone’s trying to squeeze in.

I’ll be honest, the 7.2 rating makes sense to me. It’s solid without being spectacular, and there are a few rough edges that keep it from feeling truly premium. The Wi-Fi can be spotty in some rooms (though it’s fine in common areas), and housekeeping is… well, let’s say inconsistent. Some days they’re thorough, other days it feels like they just made the bed and called it done. But the staff at reception are genuinely helpful – they know the area well and can point you toward the good massage places and which tuk-tuk drivers won’t rip you off.
