Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort Overview
You know what really struck me about Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort? It’s not just another beachfront hotel trying too hard to impress – this place actually gets the balance right between luxury and that laid-back Phuket vibe. I mean, when you pull up to the entrance, sure, you’re greeted with all the five-star polish you’d expect, but there’s something genuinely warm about the staff that feels more authentic than rehearsed. The lobby opens up to these stunning views of the Andaman Sea, and honestly, I spent way too much time just sitting there with a coffee watching the longtail boats drift by.
The location in Phuket is pretty smart – you’re tucked away from the chaos of Patong Beach but still close enough to hit the night markets when you want some proper pad thai (and trust me, the ones near Kamala Beach are worth the short drive). What I loved most was how the resort feels like it’s carved into the hillside rather than just plonked down on it. The infinity pools – there are several scattered around the property – each have their own personality, and the one by the spa area gets this gorgeous afternoon light that’s perfect for those Instagram shots you’ll definitely take. The beach access is direct, no awkward walks through other properties, and the sand is that soft, white stuff that makes you want to skip your planned excursions and just park yourself under an umbrella.
Room-wise, I stayed in one of the ocean-view suites and the balcony became my morning ritual spot – there’s something about watching the sun come up over the water while the resort is still quiet that just hits different. The beds are ridiculously comfortable (I’m talking sink-in-and-disappear comfortable), and the bathroom setup with the deep soaking tub overlooking the sea is borderline unfair to every other hotel bathroom you’ll ever use. Service throughout the property is attentive without being hovering – they remember your name, your coffee order, that sort of thing. The restaurants are solid too, especially the Thai place on the property, though honestly, part of me wishes they’d embrace more of the local street food energy. Minor critique: the WiFi can be spotty in some areas, and if you’re here during peak season, the main pool area gets pretty crowded by mid-morning. But really, these are small things when you’re waking up to those views and spending your days alternating between the beach, the spa, and that perfectly chilled pool. It’s the kind of place that makes you understand why people come back to Phuket year after year.

Pool was fantastic, so large and warm even in winter. Plenty of loungers to go round. Great shallow areas for kids to play.
We loved casa boho, especially the evening they had the DJ and violinist. Also loved the den/games room. Amazing view from there!
The hotel was positioned in a beautiful inlet away from the touristy part of kamala beach.
Breakfast and food generally was of high quality, they packed us up a breakfast when we had to leave early one day for a boat trip.
Snorkelling in front of the hotel was great.
2 bed family room was a great option and one of the key reasons we booked this hotel over others.
Very comfy beds!Brent from Australia (9/10)
