The thing about 88 Hotel is that it feels like someone who actually travels designed it, not just a corporate committee. The lobby’s got this clean, no-nonsense vibe – not trying to impress you with marble and chandeliers, but everything’s where it should be and the staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing. I mean, check-in was smooth as butter, which honestly matters more to me after a long travel day than fancy artwork on the walls. The rooms are what I’d call “smart compact” – they’ve managed to fit everything you need without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a shoebox. The bed was actually comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), the shower had decent water pressure, and there were enough outlets for all my devices without having to unplug the lamp. Little things, but they add up.

What really won me over was the attention to details that frequent travelers care about but hotels often miss. The curtains actually block out light – revolutionary concept, right? The AC doesn’t sound like a freight train, and the WiFi works consistently throughout the building, not just in the lobby. I stayed there during what seemed like a busy period, but the hallways stayed reasonably quiet even with kids running around earlier in the evening. The location’s pretty solid too – you’re not stuck in some remote business district, but you’re not paying premium prices for being right in the thick of everything either. It’s that sweet spot where you can walk to interesting spots without feeling like you need to budget an hour just to get anywhere decent. Look, this isn’t going to be the hotel you Instagram or brag about to friends, but it’s the kind of place that makes you think “yeah, I’d stay here again” when you’re booking your next trip. Sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy amenities in the world.
