This three-star place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s got that laid-back island vibe without the chaos that comes with some of the bigger resort areas, and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to decompress in Phuket.

The thing that struck me right away was how the staff actually seemed to care – I mean, really care, not just going through the motions. When I checked in (which was refreshingly quick, by the way), they didn’t just hand me a key and point toward the elevator. They took a few minutes to walk me through the neighborhood, mentioning which local spots were worth hitting up and which ones were tourist traps. That kind of insider knowledge is gold when you’re somewhere new. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable without being fancy – think crisp white sheets, decent air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, and bathrooms that actually have proper water pressure. I’ve stayed at plenty of places that charge twice as much and can’t get those basics right.

What really won me over, though, was the location and how it fits into the rhythm of the island. You’re close enough to the action that you can easily get to the beaches and night markets, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant noise of tuk-tuks and street vendors at all hours. I actually got some solid sleep there, which – if you’ve spent any time in busy Thai beach towns – you know is not always a given. The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me because it’s one of those places that just works. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and there’s something refreshing about that. Sure, you won’t find a infinity pool or a spa with crystal healing sessions, but you will find a place that feels genuine and unpretentious. Plus, the value is solid – you’re getting quality without the markup that comes with all the bells and whistles you probably won’t use anyway. If you’re the type of traveler who wants a reliable base to explore from rather than a resort you never leave, this spot hits the sweet spot.

  I rent this room straight after landing quite late and the host waited for me after check-in hours which I am very thankful for. The room are spacious and clean, AC is running very well and beds are comfortable which is a bless after long flight. At checkout you can drop the key into a mailbox so it is easy to checkout at any time. And the price was quite affordable.

  The location and room was great for a one night stay for a early flight from Phuket. Clean room with dish washer and small balcony. Also appreciated the transport to the airport (included in the price)
