The staff genuinely seems to know the area well – I mean, they pointed me toward this incredible local seafood place that I never would have found on my own, tucked away in a side street that doesn’t even show up on Google Maps properly.

What really sets HOMA apart is its location in Cherngtalay itself. Most tourists blast right through this area on their way to the beaches, but there’s something refreshingly real about it. You’re maybe ten minutes from Bang Tao Beach, which is way less crowded than Patong but still has decent facilities, and honestly, the sunsets there are spectacular. The hotel runs a shuttle service, though I found renting a scooter gave me more freedom to explore the back roads and find those hidden local spots. The pool area becomes this perfect retreat in the afternoons – not too busy, with enough shade if you’re like me and can’t handle full sun all day. I spent quite a few evenings there with a Chang beer, watching the sky turn pink over the palm trees. The rooms are spacious and well-designed, with these huge windows that make everything feel airy, and the air conditioning actually works properly (trust me, that matters more than you think in Thai heat). The Wi-Fi is solid throughout the property, which saved me during a few work calls I couldn’t avoid. Sure, it’s not beachfront, and you won’t find the extensive spa facilities of some of the mega-resorts, but HOMA offers something better – a genuine sense of place without breaking the bank or overwhelming you with tourist crowds.

  Everything! We absolutely loved our stay at HOMA!🙌🏼💖 It is perfectly located in Cherngtalay, you can walk to all the nice cafes and shops. The whole area is a bit more westernised, but you will still find some local Thai food. The gym is really good, we loved the Muay Thai sessions!💪🏼 Food at the pool is delicious!😋
