I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Friendship Beach Resort & Atmanjai Wellness Centre, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It sounds like two different places mashed together, right? But after spending a few days there, I actually get it now. This four-star property really does nail both sides of that equation in a way that surprised me.

The beach resort part delivers exactly what you’d hope for. You know that feeling when you walk onto a property and immediately feel your shoulders drop? That happened to me here. The grounds are beautifully maintained without feeling overly manicured – there’s still something organic about how the pathways wind between the buildings and gardens. The beach access is genuine too, not one of those situations where you’re walking forever just to reach disappointing sand. I mean, the water was perfect for swimming when I was there, though I’d probably check seasonal conditions if you’re planning around specific water activities. The pool area tends to get busy mid-morning, but honestly, early evenings were my favorite time to claim a lounger anyway.

What really sets this place apart though is the wellness center component – and I say this as someone who’s usually skeptical of hotel spa add-ons. The Atmanjai side feels intentional, not just tacked on for marketing purposes. The treatment rooms are genuinely peaceful (you can’t hear the pool noise or lobby chatter), and the staff actually knows what they’re doing. I tried one of their signature massages and left feeling like I’d been properly reset, if that makes sense. The wellness programs aren’t pushy either – you can totally ignore that side of things if you just want to beach-and-pool it, but it’s there if you want to dive deeper. They’ve got yoga sessions most mornings, and the instructor was this wonderfully calm woman who managed to make even the beginners feel comfortable.

Service-wise, I’d put them solidly in that sweet spot where staff are attentive without hovering. Check-in was smooth, room service arrived when they said it would, and housekeeping respected the do-not-disturb signs. The rooms themselves are comfortable – nothing groundbreaking, but everything works and the beds are actually good for sleeping. My only real complaint would be that the Wi-Fi gets a bit spotty during peak evening hours when everyone’s uploading their sunset photos, but honestly, that forced digital detox probably did me some good. The restaurant food is better than average hotel fare too, though I’d recommend venturing out for at least a couple meals just to explore the local scene. Overall, if you’re looking for a place where you can genuinely unwind without sacrificing comfort – whether that means spa treatments or just really good beach time – this place delivers on both fronts better than most places that try to do everything.

  Very nice resort with swimming pool, great breakfast, nice beach, friendly and helpful staff. Reataurant is very good with average prices. You can find cheaper restaurants and massage services out of the hotel. ( 5 minutes walk) Rooms are comfortable with good beds abd open air bathrooms. Nice equipments are such as kettle, tv in all rooms. Fresh drinking water and nescafe/tea are available every day.

  We had such a good time here. Our objective for Phuket was to enjoy and kind of do nothing, coming from a few days of being very active. We didn't end up doing nothing because there was just so much to offer. The spa organized for us a Muay Thai class and a massage, both which were very much value for money. The food at the hotel was great. Lots of choice for breakfast.

  Our stay at Friendship Beach Resort was absolutely perfect. The place looks just like the photos—if not better! The beach bungalow we stayed in was incredibly comfortable and offered just the right amount of privacy.

  It was a lovely stay at the resort. We stayed in the Sea facing room and it was lovely. Plenty of privacy and very spacious room. Very clean room and daily room service. The staff were lovely too. We had massages at the wellness centre which were very good too. Food at the resort restaurant were amazing as well. Breakfast options were limited but the options they had were great and fresh. Overall, definitely recommend it and will visit again soon.
