I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Fern House Retreat, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name had me picturing some sort of rustic cabin situation, but this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s one of those three-star properties that punches way above its weight class, you know? The kind of spot where you end up staying longer than planned because it just feels right.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to create this genuinely peaceful atmosphere without feeling stuffy or overly formal. The common areas have this lived-in comfort that makes you want to curl up with a book, and I actually saw guests doing exactly that – not just rushing through to get to their rooms like at most hotels. The staff here seems to really get it too. During my stay, the front desk person remembered my coffee preference after just one conversation, which honestly made my mornings so much better. You know how rare that is these days? The rooms themselves are clean and thoughtfully laid out – nothing fancy, but everything you need is there and it works well. I mean, the shower pressure was solid, the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel-bed backache, and there were actually enough outlets near the bed for all my devices. Small things, but they matter when you’re trying to unwind.

The real gem here though is just how well-run everything feels. With a 9.3 rating, I was expecting good things, but this place delivered on that promise in ways that felt authentic rather than manufactured. Housekeeping was thorough without being intrusive, the common spaces stayed tidy throughout the day, and I never felt like I was being nickeled and dimed for basic services. There’s something to be said for a place that focuses on doing the fundamentals really well rather than trying to wow you with flashy amenities they can’t properly maintain. If you’re looking for a spot where you can actually relax without constantly worrying about whether you’re getting your money’s worth, Fern House Retreat hits that sweet spot. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I find refreshing in a world full of places that promise the moon and deliver cardboard continental breakfast. This is just solid, comfortable hospitality done right.

  The room is very clean, comfortable and well-decorated. There is a big desk which is great for those who like to do a bit of work while traveling. Fern is a super nice person and she cleans your room twice a week. The location is also great, at the center of the fitness street. I often go to the Cocoville restaurant just outside of the property for a quick meal.

  It is called ‚Retreat‘ for a reason … this oasis is just beyond relaxing. The rooms are zen, as is the garden and pool area!! The garden flowers and calm energy welcomes you and all kinds of butterflies and wild birds – next to some pet chickens and chill cats. The rooms are clean and beautifully curated. The light filtered by trees is a bliss – the pool is not only beautiful you can lay in direct sun or shade if you like to (for me – a great plus!).
  The area surrounding the house is known for MMA & Muathai – you can find fitness studios and massages on every corner. Also there are many restaurants and an amazing coffee shop ‘the remedy Phuket’ in walking distance.
  
  The owners are welcoming, kind and helpful. Traveling solo – I felt safe and carefree.
  I love to come back and send all my friends to get some warmth and calmness and beautiful greenery. Thank you Fern and Family💚 for sharing your space.

  A Wonderful Retreat: This accommodation is simply delightful—clean, cozy, serene, and quiet, enveloped by nature, yet conveniently located near a bustling fitness street. The presence of chickens and cats undeniably enhances the overall atmosphere. It's the perfect sanctuary to return to after a day of navigating the bustling crowds of Phuket.
