You know what caught me off guard about Dome Resort SHA Plus? The name makes it sound way fancier than it actually is – and honestly, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This three-star place has this refreshingly unpretentious vibe that I wasn’t expecting when I first pulled up.

The whole “dome” thing isn’t just marketing speak either – there are actually these interesting curved architectural elements throughout the property that give it character without being gimmicky. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but there’s something kind of charming about how they committed to the theme. The lobby has this sort of organic flow to it, and the staff seemed genuinely friendly rather than that rehearsed hotel politeness you get sometimes. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend getting there before the evening rush if you can – around 6 PM things seemed to get a bit backed up.

What really works here is that they seem to get their lane and stick to it. The rooms are clean and comfortable without trying to be something they’re not. I actually appreciated that – no fancy marble that looks impressive but feels cold, just solid basics done well. The bed was surprisingly good (I’m picky about mattresses), and the AC worked without sounding like a jet engine, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. The bathroom setup is pretty standard but everything functioned properly, and there was decent water pressure. One thing though – if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the main road. It’s not terrible, but there’s definitely some traffic noise that picks up in the early morning hours. The resort does have this nice pool area that feels more spacious than you’d expect, and it’s actually a decent spot to hang out during the day. I noticed families seemed to gravitate there, but it never felt overcrowded when I was around. They’ve got some outdoor seating that catches a nice breeze in the evenings, and honestly, that’s where the place really shines – those quieter moments when you can just sit back and not worry about impressing anyone.

  This is my second time staying at Dome. The room is large by Thai standards. The pool is refreshing. The area to hangout in front of the room is great for having a drink and smoke while being able to look out over the street traffic. Great variety of restaurants, massages and markets within steps. Kata beach is about 7-10 minute walk. The shower is hot and the AC is cold. The TV has the largest variety of channels I have come across. It was nice to watch some Hollywood films in English. The cleaning lady did great and was very nice as well.

  Sehr sauber, das Reinigungsteam reinigte das Zimmer jeden Tag und hinterliess es immer blitzblank sauber. Ich habe mich dadurch sehr wohl gefühlt. Rung (Rezeptionistin) ist sehr hilfsbereit, herzlich und freundlich! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.
