You know what really struck me about Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa – SHA Extra Plus? It’s one of those places where the name actually tells you everything you need to know – and honestly, they’re not overselling it. This five-star resort literally sits perched on a cliff, and I mean dramatically so. When you first pull up, there’s this moment where you’re thinking “okay, this is either going to be spectacular or terrifying,” and thankfully it’s the former.

The spa here is seriously something else – I’ve been to a lot of resort spas that feel like afterthoughts, but this one feels like it was designed by someone who actually understands what makes a treatment memorable. The massage pavilions have these floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the water, and during my treatment I could hear the waves below mixed with this subtle tropical bird soundtrack that wasn’t piped in music – it was just the actual environment. The therapists know their stuff too, which isn’t always a given at resort spas. I’d actually recommend booking treatments for late afternoon when the light gets all golden and dramatic.

What I really appreciated was how they handled the whole cliff-top location without making it feel precarious or overdone. The infinity pool seems to just dissolve into the horizon (I know, I know, every resort says this, but here it actually works), and they’ve got these perfectly placed loungers where you can watch the sunset without fighting crowds. The rooms – well, mine had this massive balcony that felt more like an outdoor living room, complete with a daybed where I ended up spending way too much time with coffee in the mornings. Fair warning though: if you’re afraid of heights, maybe request something away from the cliff edge. The views are incredible, but there’s definitely a sense of being suspended over the water that might not be everyone’s thing. The restaurant takes full advantage of the setting too – dinner here feels like an event, not just a meal. Service was consistently good throughout my stay, which matters when you’re paying five-star prices. Honestly, this is the kind of place that makes you understand why people become resort people.
