Not every traveler wants to eat out for every single meal, especially if you’re staying longer than a few days. The air conditioning actually works (you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in this climate), and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with a marshmallow all night.

What really sold me on this place was the staff’s local knowledge. The front desk guy – I think his name was Somchai – gave me directions to this incredible khao soi place that definitely wasn’t in any guidebook. That’s the kind of insider info you get when you stay somewhere that caters to more than just the beach-and-bucket crowd. The location means you’re maybe a 15-minute ride to Patong if you want that scene, but you can also explore Old Town Phuket’s Sino-Portuguese architecture without fighting through tourist hordes. Parking isn’t terrible if you rent a scooter, though the streets around there can get pretty hectic during rush hour. One small thing – the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs. It’s not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning. Overall, with its solid 8.0 rating, this place delivers exactly what it promises: a comfortable, no-nonsense base for exploring the real Phuket beyond the postcard beaches.

  Good standard of accommodation for the price. Apartment was comfortable with air con, small kitchen and fridge, small balcony with a large washing machine. The entrance area has a reception during the daytime, with helpful staff. This apartment is on the 6th floor, serviced by two modern and quick lifts. The swimming pool is a good size in pleasant gardens, although it doesn’t get a lot of sun due to the surrounding apartments. There is a well equipped fitness centre. There are vending machines for drinks and snacks in the entrance area. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the main drag, with a couple of cafes on the way, all flat, or taxis can be ordered fairly quickly. Phuket Old Town is a 10 Minute taxi ride away. If you can sing (or not), there is an amazing hi-etc Karaoke night club place nearby called Helen 🙂
