The staff there (and this might sound small, but it matters) actually remembers your drink order after the first day, which tells you something about how they operate.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I went – the location means you’re about 20 minutes from the nearest beach that looks like a postcard, but honestly? The peace and quiet more than makes up for it. Plus, they run boat trips to nearby islands that most tourists never see because they’re busy fighting crowds at Maya Bay. The spa treatments use their own COMO Shambhala products, and while I’m usually skeptical of hotel spa brands, their Asian-inspired massages are legitimately incredible – I actually fell asleep during mine, which never happens. Oh, and the restaurant situation is solid; they do this Thai-Italian fusion thing that sounds weird on paper but works surprisingly well in practice. The tom yum risotto sounds gimmicky, I know, but trust me on this one. The only minor thing is that WiFi can be spotty in some of the villas during heavy rain, but let’s be honest – if you’re stressed about internet speed while looking out at that view, you’re doing vacation wrong.

  Gorgeous, gorgeous resort that hits all the marks! This is an exquisite hotel with spectacular views throughout, outstanding food options and the most amazing breakfast spread I have ever experienced. The photos do NOT do this place justice. The staff are stellar and in true Thai form incredibly hospitable and extremely attentive. This is a superlative hotel experience you will not forget. We are so glad we took a chance on this place because the photos do not relay the spectacular one of kind experience this hotel provides!
