Citygate Kamala Resort and Residence – Official Account Overview
You know what really surprised me about Citygate Kamala Resort and Residence – Official Account? It’s how they’ve managed to create this perfect balance between luxury and that laid-back Phuket vibe that so many places get wrong. I mean, when you first pull up to this five-star property, there’s this immediate sense that you’re somewhere special without all the stuffy pretension that sometimes comes with high-end resorts.
The location in Kamala is honestly brilliant – you’re close enough to the action but far enough removed that you actually get to relax. I’ve stayed at places right on Kamala Beach where the jet ski noise starts at dawn, but here you get that tropical tranquility without being completely isolated. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, though I’ll be honest, check-in took longer than expected during my visit – apparently they were dealing with some system updates, but they handled it well and offered drinks while we waited.
What really sold me on this place, though, are all those little details that show someone actually thought about how people live and travel. The residence-style accommodations are perfect if you’re staying more than just a few nights – I actually cooked breakfast a couple times using their kitchen setup, which felt surprisingly normal for a resort setting. The pools (there are multiple areas, which is smart for crowd management) never felt overcrowded, even during what the locals told me was peak season. And here’s something you don’t always get at Thai resorts – the water pressure in the showers is actually fantastic. Small thing, but you know how it is when you’re dealing with sandy beach days and Thai humidity. The resort does get a bit quiet in the evenings if you’re looking for nightlife action, but honestly that’s part of the charm – you can always head down to Kamala Beach Road or catch a tuk-tuk to Patong if you want more energy. The breakfast spread impressed me too, with a good mix of Western options and local Thai dishes that didn’t feel like watered-down tourist versions. I’d definitely come back here, especially if I was planning one of those longer stays where you want to feel settled rather than just passing through.
Hotels in Phuket offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of Thailand’s largest island, with easy access to bustling markets, pristine beaches, and renowned attractions like James Bond Island.

The rooms in Paris building were great, the one we initially stayed at the first night “New York” was not so nice. The floors, cleanliness, the condition was more well kept in the Paris room.
Leanke from South Africa (8/10)
Separate living area & bedroom, big fridge. Beds were comfy and bathroom nice and big. Location to the beach was a short walking distance & plenty of nice restaurants in the area.
