Chino Town Gallery Alley – SHA Plus Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Chino Town Gallery Alley – SHA Plus feels like discovering a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Phuket Town. This three-star boutique property sits right on Soi Soon U-Thit, just off the famous Yaowarat Road, and honestly — the location couldn’t be better. The building itself has this charming Sino-Portuguese vibe that perfectly captures the old-world character of the neighborhood, with colorful shutters and traditional architectural details that make you want to snap photos before you even check in.
The Heart of Old Town
You know what’s brilliant about staying here? You’re literally in the middle of Phuket’s most atmospheric district, where every street corner tells a story. The famous Sunday Walking Street market happens right on your doorstep — I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and be browsing local crafts and street food within minutes. Those heritage shophouses with their Instagram-worthy facades are everywhere you look, and the morning light hitting the pastel-colored buildings is something else. Couples absolutely love wandering these streets together (the location scores speak for themselves), and I can see why — there’s romance in those narrow alleys lined with art galleries and quirky cafes.
Your Home Base
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed, with clean lines and local touches that felt authentic rather than touristy. Don’t expect sprawling amenities here — it’s more about smart use of space and genuine character. The air conditioning works well (crucial in this climate), and the Wi-Fi is reliable enough for staying connected. What I appreciated most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being in such a central spot — the thick walls of these old buildings really do their job.
Exploring the Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about this location — you’re walking distance from some of the best local food in Phuket. That little restaurant around the corner serves incredible mee hokkien, and there’s a traditional coffee shop two blocks away where locals actually hang out (not just tourists). The Thavorn Museum is practically next door if you’re into local history, and honestly, just wandering these streets feels like stepping back in time. Parking can be a bit tricky on the narrow streets, but the hotel staff knows all the spots and they’re genuinely helpful about it.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place special isn’t fancy amenities or over-the-top service — it’s the authentic experience of staying in old Phuket Town. You’re not isolated in some resort bubble; you’re actually living alongside the community, hearing the morning vendors, smelling the street food, and experiencing the real rhythm of local life. The property might be simple, but it’s clean, well-maintained, and the staff treats you like family rather than just another booking. For travelers who want to explore Phuket’s cultural heart without breaking the bank, this spot delivers exactly what you need — a comfortable base in an unbeatable location where every day starts with genuine discovery.

Great location in old town, most things are in walking distance and it is not loud at the same time. Quite clean, nice staff and free coffee and tea making station near the reception. Nice staff who organized a taxi for me. Air conditioning worked well.

Great location, overall good value for the money. Be prepared to communicate with the staff via google translate, since they don’t speak English.

Location was great nice and quiet in the heart of the old town. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Arranged a taxi for me to the airport which was cheaper than bolt and the regular taxi on the street.
