The name actually makes perfect sense once you step inside – there are subtle cat-themed touches everywhere, but in this charming, whimsical way that doesn’t feel gimmicky at all. This three-star place really punches above its weight class, honestly. The rooms are thoughtfully designed with these cozy nooks that remind you of – well, places a cat might curl up, which sounds weird but somehow works perfectly. The lighting is warm and inviting, and I actually found myself lingering in the lobby longer than usual because it just felt so comfortable. The staff genuinely seems to care about what they’re doing too, which you can tell within minutes of checking in. They remember your name, ask how your day went – that sort of thing that makes a place feel more like a boutique experience than your typical mid-range hotel.

What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the common areas. There’s this reading corner with the most ridiculously comfortable armchairs (I practically had to pry myself out of one), and the breakfast area has these large windows that let in amazing natural light in the mornings. The food isn’t revolutionary or anything, but it’s fresh and clearly prepared with care – proper coffee, local pastries, the kind of spread that actually feels worth getting up for. I stayed here during what seemed like a busy period, but the place never felt chaotic or overwhelmed. The soundproofing between rooms is surprisingly good too, which isn’t something you always get at this price point. Honestly, with an 8.4 rating, I went in with decent expectations, but the place exceeded them in those small ways that end up mattering most when you’re trying to get a good night’s sleep and start your day right. It’s the kind of spot where you can tell someone put real thought into creating a space that feels welcoming rather than just functional.

  We had a delightful stay at Cat Story Hotel! A friendly cat gave us a warm welcome and even showed us to our room – a unique and playful touch that set the tone for a fun stay. Our room came with a handy mini washing machine, which was a thoughtful amenity, so remember to bring your detergent if you plan on staying and using it. The elevator made accessing our fifth-floor room easy, and we appreciated the convenience store just steps away for stocking up on essentials. Plus, the nearby restaurant Doo Dee Patong served up delicious meals. The hotel's proximity to the beach was another major perk!
  
  Happily, the shower water pressure and temperature were just fine. We enjoyed our time at Cat Story Hotel and would recommend it to fellow travelers looking for a playful and convenient stay. The feline welcome was the icing on the cake! (And, yes, there were more than 10 cats around the hotel – but our personal feline escort was the one who stole the show!)

  The staff are so friendly and her love for cats really shined through. The cats are all adorable and huge compared to the UK. They will sneak into the elevator with you and maybe try to get into your room which is always a cute experience. The location is good, about a 10 minute walk to the beach and you’ll be at a good part of it too. There’s also a small washing machine in the room which is great!

  if you're staying here you're staying for the cats. there were 10-12 cats in residence that were either very friendly or indifferent, but all were very cute.
  
  the room was a great size, with a small balcony overlooking some of the mountains. there was even a (very) small washer in the bathroom which was great to have in the room – with a clothes line on the balcony. room and hotel were very quiet.
  
  cafe & 7/11 on either side of hotel. tons of restaurants nearby on main street. short walk to bars and 15-20 min walk to patong beach.
