Boomerang Village Resort Kata Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Boomerang Village Resort Kata? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well. I mean, sure, it’s a three-star property, but the moment you walk through those doors, you realize the owners have put their energy into the things that actually matter when you’re trying to unwind in Phuket.
The location is pretty sweet – you’re nestled in this quieter part of Kata where you can actually hear the waves at night instead of just endless scooter engines. I stayed there during shoulder season, and mornings were this perfect mix of birdsong and distant surf that made getting up early feel less like punishment. The resort itself has this village vibe (hence the name, I guess) with low-rise buildings scattered around tropical gardens that feel genuinely lived-in rather than manicured to death. What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to know everyone’s name by day two – not in that forced, corporate hospitality way, but like they actually cared about making your stay comfortable.
The rooms are clean and functional without any unnecessary frills, which I appreciated. Air conditioning works well (crucial in that humidity), and the beds are actually comfortable – you’d be surprised how often that’s not a given in this price range. The pool area becomes the heart of the place around late afternoon, when guests start trickling back from the beaches and everyone’s comparing sunburn levels and sharing restaurant recommendations. Speaking of which, Kata Beach is maybe a ten-minute walk, and you’ll pass some local spots that serve incredible pad thai for like 60 baht – the kind of discovery that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Thailand, not just the tourist version. I found myself choosing Boomerang Village over some of the flashier places I’d stayed before, simply because it felt authentic and the 8.9 rating it’s earned makes perfect sense once you’re there. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself extending your stay by a few days, not because there’s some amazing amenity you can’t tear yourself away from, but because the whole experience just feels right.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Phuket at least three months ahead for major events like Loy Krathong and New Year celebrations, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular beaches and attractions.

The property itself is beautiful and is surrounded by beautiful trees and many Buddhist statues. Having a pool to cool of is also plus. Big room that was cleaned every day, Staff were very nice when we need it something.

The place is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing, and the rooms are wide and clean. That said, the truly amazing thing about this place is the owners and staff, who have been unusually friendly and welcoming. I will definitely come back again.

Great accomodation, beautiful view over Kata, very quiet and immersed in nature as it's away from the main streets and traffic. Staff is very nice and friendly, always welcoming us with a smile and ready to give us suggestions and tips. They also make a very good breakfast and italian style coffees at the bar.
It's 15/20 minutes walk from the main area of Kata beach, 5 minutes with the scooter.
Note: the resort is at the top of the hill so the last 50meters of street to reach it is very steep. You need very good legs or rent a scooter/taxi. The rooms looks like little mountain cottages and are on different levels so also here you need to walk a bit up hill to reach them if you are in the top ones. There are also rooms next to the pool.
We were in one of the top ones and the view was amazing but be aware of the steps. 😀Glib from Israel (9/10)

The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The pool was lovely to sit around. The staff were very nice and helpful. They organise a taxi to pick us up at 4am to take us to the airport and this ran very smoothly. The breakfasts were delicious.
