Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of villa rentals around Thailand, but Big Buddha View 3br Pool Villa by Intira Villas honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. The name pretty much tells you everything – you wake up to this incredible view of the Big Buddha statue dominating the hillside, and I mean, it’s right there framed perfectly from the main living area. The pool situation is what really sold me though. It’s not huge, but it’s private and positioned so you can float around while taking in that iconic Buddha view. I spent way too many mornings just floating there with my coffee, which sounds cheesy but was actually pretty perfect.

What I really appreciated about this four-star place is how they’ve managed to keep it feeling like a home rather than some sterile hotel setup. The three bedrooms are genuinely spacious – I mean, you could easily fit six people here without anyone feeling cramped. The master has this great en-suite that’s all marble and rainfall shower heads, very spa-like. The other two rooms share a bathroom but honestly, with three bedrooms and that layout, it works perfectly for families or groups. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I actually cooked dinner a few times instead of going out, partly because the terrace dining setup is so nice you don’t want to leave.

The location puts you close enough to all the action but far enough up the hill that you’re not dealing with scooter noise all night long. Getting up and down requires either your own transport or grabbing a taxi, but that’s pretty standard for these hillside spots – and honestly, the trade-off for those views and the quiet is totally worth it. The Intira Villas management team was surprisingly responsive too. I had a minor issue with the pool pump on day two, sent them a message, and someone was there within an hour to sort it out. Check-in was smooth, they actually met us at the property with cold towels and drinks, which was a nice touch after the journey up. The whole experience felt more personal than your typical vacation rental, you know? It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself taking way too many sunset photos from that terrace and actually looking forward to quiet evenings in instead of always needing to be out exploring.
