The front desk guy – I think his name was Som – gave me the most detailed rundown of local food spots I’ve ever gotten from hotel staff anywhere. Turns out he was right about that little curry place around the corner too.

The pool area is small but perfectly fine for cooling off after a day of exploring, and there’s something to be said for a place that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. I stayed here during the shoulder season in October, and while the rain did its tropical downpour thing most afternoons, the hotel’s covered areas made it easy to just hang out and wait it out. The breakfast is pretty standard Thai hotel fare, but honestly, with all the incredible street food literally steps away, I barely touched it after the first morning. If you’re the type who needs a resort-style experience, this isn’t your place. But if you want somewhere clean, friendly, and right in the thick of things without breaking the bank – yeah, this works really well. Just bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, especially on weekends when Bangla Road gets particularly enthusiastic.
