The location is pretty solid – you’re basically a short walk from Surin Beach, which, if you’ve spent any time in Phuket, you’ll know is one of the quieter stretches compared to the chaos of Patong or Kata. The staff here seem to genuinely care about making your stay work, not just going through the motions. I remember our room had this slightly quirky layout (the bathroom was larger than expected, honestly), and while the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, everything felt clean and functional. The air conditioning actually worked properly – which, let’s be real, is sometimes a gamble at this price point in Thailand.

What I really liked was how the place sits in the neighborhood. You’re not isolated in some tourist bubble, but you’re also not dealing with the overwhelming hustle that can wear you down after a few days. There’s a local restaurant about two minutes away that does incredible pad see ew – the kind of spot you’d never find if you were staying at one of those big beachfront resorts. The beach access is straightforward, no weird private beach politics or anything like that. Surin can get busy during peak season (December through February), but even then it maintains this more laid-back vibe compared to the southern beaches. I noticed the lodge fills up with a mix of travelers – some couples, some solo backpackers who’ve outgrown hostels but aren’t ready for luxury prices, and quite a few return visitors, which honestly says something about the place. The pool area is small but adequate, nothing fancy, just a decent spot to cool off when the afternoon heat gets intense. Parking wasn’t an issue when we visited, though I imagine that could change during high season. Check-in was smooth, no bureaucratic nonsense, and they were flexible about our late arrival from the airport.

  Great beach literally in several minutes walk, across the road; several supermarkets nearby, the Smart bus stop (going from airport) just round the corner. The room has interesting decor and it's quite spacious.

  Room looked exactly like on the picture. No elevator but they help with the luggage, super comfy bed, and clean room. Just a short walking distance to the beach and local markets as well as restaurants and cafes. Very friendly and helpful staff.
