I mean, it’s a three-star place, so you’re not getting actual castle turrets or anything, but there’s this playful royal theme throughout that actually works really well if you’re traveling with kids.

The whole place has this whimsical fairy-tale vibe going on – think medieval banners mixed with bright, beachy colors rather than stuffy castle decor. What I really appreciated was how they managed to make it feel fancy enough for the adults without being so precious that you’re constantly worried about your kids touching something. The lobby has these oversized throne chairs that are honestly pretty comfortable, and there’s usually a few kids posing for photos in them. The staff plays along with the theme too, but not in an annoying way – more like they’re genuinely having fun with it.

The rooms are actually quite spacious, which you don’t always get at this price point. They’ve got this clever setup where the kids’ area (bunk beds designed like a little castle tower) feels separate from the main bedroom, so parents can actually unwind after the little ones crash. The beach access is the real winner though – you’re literally steps from the sand, and they provide these colorful beach umbrellas that fit right into the whole royal holiday theme. I loved that they had actual beach toys available to borrow, not just the usual broken plastic stuff you find at most places. The pool area gets pretty lively during peak hours, but if you hit it early morning or late afternoon, it’s perfect for a quieter swim. One small thing – the elevators can get pretty packed during check-in and check-out times, so if you’re on a higher floor with lots of luggage and tired kids, maybe plan accordingly. But honestly, with a 9.7 rating, they’re clearly doing something right. It’s one of those places where the whole family actually enjoys the stay, which – let me tell you – is harder to find than you’d think.

  What an incredible place! Felt like royalty here, so spacious, so well appointed. 3 balconies with great views.
  
  The beds were amazing! They look fit for Thai royalty, and feel great.
  
  Hop out the door and the super safe family beach is right there. You don't need a pool with a beach this good.
  
  Everything you need is within a minute or two walk. Great restaurants, 7/11, money changers, ATM.
  
  Great communication with the staff who respected our privacy and were always willing to work around our needs.
  
  We even paddled out on the boat to our own deserted island!

  Ao Yon is secret jewel on Phuket – there are fewer people on the beach compared to the west coast, the water is always calm and great both for little kids and swimming. You get everything in walking distance, no need to drive outside the area maybe apart from one or two trips to the Old Town. It is quiet and peacefull. The apartment No. 2 was huge, lots of light, I loved the designer sofas and big terrace, beds were super comfy. Someone might find the apartment little bit dangerous for little kids because of the staircase but we managed with two of them and they were great. They basically lived and played on the staircase for over a week without anyone falling (our plan was to forbid them to climb it, but as you know kids)…
