I’ve stayed at quite a few places along Phuket’s coastline, but Bandara Phuket Beach Resort honestly surprised me in the best way. You know how some beach resorts try too hard to be everything to everyone? This place doesn’t do that – it just does what it does really well, which is giving you that proper tropical beach experience without all the pretentious nonsense.

The thing that struck me first was how they’ve managed to keep that authentic Thai resort vibe while still being a solid four-star property. I mean, you’re not going to mistake it for some ultra-luxury spot, but that’s actually refreshing. The grounds have this lived-in, comfortable feeling – palm trees that look like they’ve been there forever, not planted last week for Instagram photos. The pools (there are a couple of them) are genuinely relaxing spaces where you can actually hear the waves from the beach, which is maybe a two-minute walk through their garden pathways. Speaking of the beach access, it’s one of those spots where you get proper sand between your toes, not the rocky shoreline you sometimes get stuck with at other resorts.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area – when I asked about getting to the Big Buddha (which you can see from some of the rooms, by the way), they didn’t just hand me a tourist brochure. They told me the best time to go, which route to take, and honestly gave me better local insights than most tour guides. The rooms themselves are comfortable in that unpretentious way – good air conditioning, decent Wi-Fi, and bathrooms that actually have proper water pressure. Nothing fancy, but everything works, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed in Phuket. The balconies are where you’ll probably end up spending your mornings with coffee, especially if you snag one of the upper floor rooms with partial ocean views. There’s something about watching the longtail boats head out in the early morning that just sets the right mood for the day. Honestly, for what you’re paying and the genuine hospitality you get, it’s one of those places that makes you think “yeah, I could definitely come back here” – which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want from a beach resort.

  The best thing about this hotel is the infinity pool with the view on the Panwa Bay. Hotel staff is very helpful and nice. Breakfast is ok. Rooms are clean and nice.

  The setting was stunning and the breakfasts were great – a huge range of food on offer.
  The room was clean and well equipped. We especially appreciated there being a fridge in the room wirh complimentary drinks and beach towels being provided. The infinity pool and the beach frontage were fabulous.

  Only 5 mins walk to beach. pool is the most beautiful one. we got free dinner vouchers for one time use. flamingo bar is very fancy and the perfect place to watch sunset. staff is really friendly and patient. highly recommend for the people who want to relax and feel luxury. we'll definitely come back again to this hotel.

  Hotel clean comfortable and bright. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely and the view amazing. Breakfast was very good.
