I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Baan Mai Khao Beach Residence, I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds pretty standard for Phuket, you know? But actually stepping into this place completely changed my perspective. This four-star property sits right on Mai Khao Beach, and I mean right on it – you can literally roll out of bed and be on sand within two minutes. What really struck me was how they’ve managed to keep that authentic Thai residential feel while still giving you all the comfort you’d want from a proper resort.

The thing about Mai Khao is that it’s not your typical Phuket beach scene. You won’t find the crowds or the jet skis here – it’s actually part of the national park area, so development is pretty restricted. That means when you’re sitting on your balcony at Baan Mai Khao, you’re looking out at this endless stretch of pristine sand with hardly anyone on it. I spent most mornings just watching the local fishermen head out with their long-tail boats around sunrise. The residence itself feels more like a collection of really well-designed beach houses than a traditional hotel, which honestly works perfectly for the setting. Each unit has this lived-in quality – proper kitchens with decent equipment (not those tiny hotel fridges), spacious living areas where you can actually spread out, and bathrooms that don’t make you feel cramped after a day at the beach.

What I really appreciated was how the staff treated the place – they clearly take pride in maintaining it without being overly formal about everything. The pool area never felt crowded, even during peak season, and there’s something really nice about being able to grab a proper home-cooked meal in Phuket when you don’t feel like venturing out. The location does mean you’ll want to rent a scooter or car if you’re planning to explore the island’s busier areas – Patong is about a 45-minute drive south. But honestly, that distance is part of the appeal. You get the best of both worlds: easy access to Phuket’s attractions when you want them, and a peaceful retreat to come back to. The beach here is also where sea turtles nest during certain months, and if you time it right, you might catch the release events the conservation groups organize. It’s one of those experiences that makes you remember why you travel in the first place.

  The Apartament was fully equipped, it's located just by the pool. In fact, You exit the Apartament and the pool is just a few steps ahead! The whole condominium is very green, clean and well maintained and it's located next to the beach, which is wide and not crowded.
  
  The host, Alex, is a very nice, helpful and friendly person. The contact with him was great, he answered instantly every single time. Thanks for Your kindness, Alex, we wish all hosts were just as professional and kind as You are!

  If you want a really quiet place for your stay, here is the place!!! So peaceful but at the same time very convenient because the facility have an enormous extensive pool, gym, sauna room, sun bathing bed, etc. Nearby they have lots of restaurants, massage shops, 7-elevens and a beach to watch the most beautiful sunset.

  Новый жилой комплекс расположен на берегу моря. Территория чистая и ухоженная. Людей на пляже мало, пляж огромный. Вход в воду достаточно крутой 7-8 метров от берега уже по шею. Вода чистая, прозрачная. В комплексе несколько хороших бассейнов, есть гидромассаж. Квартира на первом этаже все необходимое есть. Кухня оборудована хорошо вся бытовая техника, посуда в хорошем состоянии. Фото соответствует. Место подходит для тихого спокойного отдыха для тех кто устал от шума и суеты. До места где садятся самолеты километров 5 по пляжу. Хозяин на связи. Возникла проблема с интернетом все решил за 10 минут. Интернет хороший.
