Baan Boa Resort Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Baan Boa Resort? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies or marble everything, but somehow ends up being exactly what you didn’t know you needed. I mean, sure, it’s a three-star property, so don’t walk in expecting turndown service and champagne – but honestly, that’s kind of the point. The whole vibe here is refreshingly unpretentious, like staying at a friend’s well-maintained guesthouse rather than some corporate hotel chain.
The rooms are actually quite thoughtfully designed, with these lovely wooden accents that give everything a warm, lived-in feeling. I noticed they’ve got decent air conditioning (trust me, you’ll appreciate this), and the beds are surprisingly comfortable – not too firm, not too soft, just that sweet spot where you actually sleep through the night. The bathrooms are clean and functional, though the water pressure can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on which room you get. Small thing, but worth mentioning since nobody likes a disappointing shower after a long day of exploring.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff – they’re genuinely helpful without being overly formal about it. During my stay, the front desk guy (I think his name was Niran) gave me these incredibly specific directions to a local market that I never would have found otherwise, complete with warnings about which stalls to avoid and which ones serve the best som tam. It’s that kind of insider knowledge that you just can’t get from the big resort chains. The pool area is another pleasant surprise – nothing huge or Instagram-worthy, but it’s clean, usually quiet during the day, and surrounded by enough greenery to make you forget you’re in the middle of everything. I spent quite a few evenings there with a book and a cold beer from the little shop next door (they don’t mind if you bring your own drinks, by the way). The only real downside I noticed was that the WiFi can be spotty in some of the rooms farther from the lobby, so if you’re planning to work remotely, maybe mention that when you check in. Overall though, Baan Boa Resort hits that perfect balance of comfort, authenticity, and value that’s getting harder to find these days – it’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re actually experiencing somewhere real rather than just passing through another generic hotel bubble.

Clarice from Singapore (8/10)
The location was very good. Just in front of the beach and it’s not at the crowded end. My room was facing the pool and was very comfortable. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was ok. I extended my trip so was lucky to get this hotel at a reasonable price.
