You know what caught me off guard about B House Phuket @Chalong? I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place, honestly – but this little gem completely changed my perspective on what budget-friendly accommodation can be in Phuket.

The location in Chalong is actually perfect if you want to experience the real side of the island without being stuck in the tourist chaos of Patong or Kata. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Chalong Pier, which is where all the island-hopping boats leave from – I watched groups heading out to Phi Phi and James Bond Island every morning from my room window. The staff here genuinely knows their stuff too; they helped me book a longtail boat trip at way better prices than the resort areas charge, and the guy at reception (I think his name was Niran) actually drew me a little map showing the best local seafood spots that most tourists never find.

What really impressed me was how clean and well-maintained everything felt – the kind of attention to detail you’d expect from a much pricier place. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully designed with proper blackout curtains (trust me, you’ll appreciate this when you’re jet-lagged), and the air conditioning actually works efficiently without sounding like a helicopter landing. The bathroom surprised me with decent water pressure, which can be hit-or-miss in this price range around Phuket. There’s this lovely little pool area that’s never crowded – probably because most guests are out exploring – and it’s surrounded by tropical plants that actually look cared for, not just thrown in as an afterthought. The WiFi reaches everywhere, even poolside, which saved me when I needed to sort out some work stuff. I’ll be honest though, the breakfast is pretty basic – but there’s an incredible local market just down the road where you can grab fresh mango and the best Thai coffee for practically nothing. Plus, you’re close enough to Rawai Beach that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes, and that area has some fantastic beachfront restaurants where the locals actually eat.

  Soi Yot Sane 1 is the road that runs up the mountain to Big Buddha and back down to Kata beach which is a fantastic sunrise hike followed by Breakfast at kata beach, right on your doorstep. 'mma guy cafe' down the road, spend all Sunday getting a caffeine buzz, watching UFC and playing chess or drive up the mountain for Sunset dinner and drinks.
  
  Easily the best value for money accommodation, good central location for Muay Thai, beaches and attractions. host is respectful, neighborhood is safe, kitchen/bathroom is modern and clean. property maintenance is excellent. It's nice and quiet but you don't have to go far to find something fun to do and there's a little old lady cooking chicken at the end of the driveway every morning

  I liked the house very much. The space is sufficient for 2 people. The kitchen has enough space and well equipped with a breakfast table too. Location is very close to big Buddha. There are good number of eateries and bike rentals near the house. overall we had a very good experience in the house!

  Nice large, clean space for a solo traveller. Kitchen area is separate to bedroom and bathroom. Everything is brand new, large smart tv, powerful ac and free to use washing machine.
