You know what caught me off guard about AT SEA Patong? I was expecting just another budget beachside place, but this three-star spot actually has some character to it. The name’s a bit misleading though – you’re not literally at sea level, but you can definitely catch glimpses of the Andaman through the palm trees if you crane your neck from the right angle.

The location is honestly pretty solid for exploring Patong. You’re close enough to walk to the main beach drag without being right in the middle of all that Bangla Road madness – which, trust me, you’ll appreciate when you’re trying to sleep after midnight. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the area still gets lively, but it’s more of a distant hum than having party music thumping through your walls. The staff here seems to genuinely know the neighborhood too, which is refreshing. They pointed me toward this little local seafood spot that I never would’ve found on my own, tucked away behind the main tourist strips.

What I really liked was how the place feels more authentic than some of those flashier hotels closer to the water. The rooms are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but the air conditioning works well (crucial in that humidity), and the bathrooms are actually decent sized. The pool area becomes this nice little social hub in the evenings where you end up chatting with other travelers, mostly Europeans and Australians when I was there. Honestly, for the price point, you’re getting solid value. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with luxury touches, but sometimes you just want a comfortable base where you can shower off the beach sand, grab a cold beer, and plan your next day without breaking the bank. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

  Great accommodation for price. Very peaceful and calm. It is away from all the hustle and bustle which is great when you need a break. Lovely staff very accommodating. Lovely view. The accommodation was exactly as advertised. Stairs to access rooms and beach are very steep, keep that in mind when packing your luggage.

  It was quiet and out of town. (10 min cab to Patong strip) Small fairly private beach with a beach restaurant (10-7 daily) open next door, with good food and drinks.
  I don't know why it gets poor reviews as I found this place good value for the money. Some people are princesses and pick apart everything. There's a scooter rental outside and elephants walking nearby!! (Whats that about?) 7-11 is a 10-15min walk. The hammock on your private balcony is nice as well. The place is dated but clean and made comfortable none the less. I would stay here again.
