You know what caught me off guard about Apartment Mai Khao Beach? It’s technically a four-star place, but honestly, it feels way more intimate and genuine than those massive resort complexes that dominate this stretch of Phuket’s northwest coast. I mean, Mai Khao Beach isn’t exactly the busiest part of the island – it’s actually where the airport is, so you’ll hear planes occasionally, but trust me, it’s not as disruptive as you’d think.

The apartment setup is pretty brilliant if you ask me. Instead of cramped hotel rooms, you get actual living space with a proper kitchenette, which is clutch when you want to grab fresh mangoes from the local market and not pay resort prices for every single meal. The beach here is massive and relatively empty – I’m talking about that pristine stretch where sea turtles actually come to nest (between November and February, if you’re timing your visit). Most tourists stick to Patong or Kata, so Mai Khao feels almost secretive. The waves can get pretty decent during monsoon season too, nothing crazy, but definitely swimmable most of the year.

What I really appreciated was how the staff actually seemed to care – not that rehearsed hospitality you get at bigger chains. They’ll tell you straight up that the best som tam is at this tiny cart about ten minutes down Sakhu Road, or that you should grab a taxi to the night market in Nai Yang rather than trying to walk it. The apartment itself stays surprisingly cool even during the hot season, and the Wi-Fi is solid if you’re trying to get some work done. Parking is never an issue, which honestly makes a huge difference when you’re exploring the area. The airport proximity is actually kind of convenient – I landed at like 11 PM and was in bed within 45 minutes. Just keep in mind that Mai Khao is definitely more laid-back than party-central areas, so if you’re looking for nightlife, you’ll need to venture out. But if you want that perfect rating experience (and I get why this place scores so well with guests), where you can walk to an endless beach, cook your own meals, and actually feel like you’re staying somewhere with character rather than another cookie-cutter resort, this spot delivers exactly that.

  Просторная хорошая квартира, чистая уютная. Быстрый лифт. На районе для семейного отдыха есть всё, нет ничего 'грязного' лишнего. Красивый, длинный и пустынный пляж. Вкусно готовят в кафе на ближайшем перекрёстке, там же рядом 7eleven и массаж. Недалеко есть секция по Муай-Тай. Частенько ездят тук-тук мопеды да и любое такси приезжает быстро.
