I mean, when you’re dealing with a five-star property, you expect certain things, but honestly, the way they’ve woven the buildings between the existing trees and lagoons shows someone actually thought about this design.

The lagoon system here is the real deal – and I’m talking about natural lagoons, not some artificial hotel feature. You can literally kayak from your room to the beach, which sounds gimmicky until you’re actually doing it on a quiet morning before the day-trippers show up. The water’s surprisingly clear too, though I’d stick to the actual ocean for swimming since the lagoons can get a bit warm by afternoon. What’s clever is how they’ve connected all the Laguna properties (there are several resorts sharing this area) with boat shuttles, so you’re not stuck in one spot if you want to explore. The 18-hole golf course winds through the whole complex, and even if you’re not playing, the views from the clubhouse restaurant are worth the short walk.

Location-wise, you’re about 20 minutes north of the chaos that is Patong, which honestly feels like a different planet. Phuket can be overwhelming – I get it – but this stretch of Bang Tao feels more like what you probably imagined Thai beach life would be like. There’s a small local market maybe 10 minutes away by scooter where you can grab actual Thai street food instead of resort prices, though fair warning, the hotel staff might try to steer you toward their organized excursions instead. The spa here is solid (it’s Angsana, so they know what they’re doing with treatments), but what I really appreciated was the kid-friendly setup. Lots of families here, especially during school holidays, but the property’s spread out enough that you can find quiet corners. The main pool area gets busy around 2 PM when people retreat from the beach heat, but the smaller pools near the lagoon villas stay pretty peaceful. Check-in was smooth – they actually had our room ready early, which never happens to me anywhere else. Just heads up though, if you’re planning to visit during high season, book dinner reservations when you arrive, not when you’re already hungry.

  The resort is one of the best resorts in the area. It has all kind of family friendly activities. The kids enjoyed the kids club and the swimming pools. The swimming pool was very clean and the resort was beautiful! For a family we recommend the two bedroom villas. excellent staff very friendly!

  First, kudos to the staff at the hotel are all friendly and helpful which made our stay very pleasant. Secondly, the hotel grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The pools are large and interesting (esp. the lazy pool), especially for families with children. Well-maintained and fully equipped 24-hour gym. Thirdly, the breakfast spread was good and excellent.
