Morning coffee definitely happens on the sea-facing side, but by afternoon, you want those shaded areas on the other side of the house. The air conditioning works properly (not always a given), and the Wi-Fi reaches everywhere, including the outdoor areas – crucial if you’re trying to upload those sunset photos to make your friends jealous.

What I didn’t expect was how quiet it gets at night. Patong has this reputation for being all party all the time, but up here you get just enough distance from Bangla Road that you can actually sleep without earplugs. You’ll hear the occasional motorbike winding up the hill, sure, but it’s not the constant hum of chaos you get down in the thick of things. The 8.1 rating makes sense when you think about it – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the fundamentals while giving you something special with those views.
